Greg & Susan's Basement
Greg first contacted MAB Home Services in April 2008 with a request for a remodel estimate. We exchanged a few e-mails and played some phone tag. Then Susan sent me a note saying they had some family maters to attend to and had to put the project on hold. I assured Greg & Susan that family was most important, and that MABHS would be there to help with their home improvement project when they were ready to go with it.
The summer months flew by and then fall. MABHS remained busy as ever but every so often I sent Greg & Susan an e-mail wishing them well. Then in September 2008 Susan called me and said they were ready to go forward with the project if MABHS could finish the remodel before the holidays. With Thanksgiving looming large on the calendar, this gave MABHS 7 weeks to complete an 8 week project. I told Greg & Susan that I could not give them an iron clad guarantee, but I would do my best, and they accepted the contract.
The First major event was to remove the huge old HVAC unit, which took up most of the basement and replace it with a new smaller, more efficient unit and place it in the corner out of the way. The experts at Tucker’s Air Conditioning and Heating handled this, quickly and neatly. Once this major event was out of the way MABHS proceeded to follow their pre-planned schedule relentlessly. Progress reviews were held daily, and any task that could be advanced was pushed up in the schedule. Greg kept leaving little notes exclaiming how amazed he was that every evening when he went into the basement to inspect the day’s work, there was always something new and exciting to see.
Demolition was started on Monday October 6th. Major construction was done by Friday November, 7th, and the project was 99% complete on Friday November 21st. MABHS walked the job with the client on Friday evening and the final finishing touches were done Tuesday November 25, two days before Thanksgiving and exactly seven weeks and two days into an eight week schedule.
Greg and Susan were very pleased with their new living space, and thrilled about the value that MAB Home Services added to their home.
